February 2009 -Samantha’s Purpose received notification that their application for 501(c)(3) IRS status had been approved. Immediately the organization became fund raising.

July 2009 - the first two (2) Grants were awarded. One of the recipients was CRISTIAN GARZA. The Grants awarded allowed these children to receive approximately 3 months of therapy at the Martha Ware Rehabilitation Center at Baptist Hospital.

At the beginning of 2010, Samantha’s Purpose was contacted by the family of a 4 year old boy that had been trying to get their insurance company to approve the purchase of his wheelchair for over a year. This little boy is not entitled to Government assistance and his private insurance refused to pay for the wheelchair, although both his doctors and therapists insisted was needed. Michelle Coffey-Garcia reached out to Albert “Tico” Gutierrez and Luis “Wicho” Hernandez (of LINQ Financial Group) for their help. Thanks to LINQ Financial Group (a MassMutual Company) and FLEC Tutors, the $4,000.00 needed to purchase the wheelchair was covered by them and this little boy has the wheelchair he needs.

Summer of 2010 - Samantha's Purpose provided 3 scholarships to a summer camp for children with Special Needs, that is organized and run by Villa Lyan. Due to these scholarships, three children with Cerebral Palsy were able to participate in an amazing summer camp program.

January 2011 - Samantha's Purpose awarded a Grant to Tashal Maes, in order that he could continue to receive therapeutic riding sessions at Good Hope Equestrian Center in the Redlands area of Miami.

January 2011 - Samantha's Purpose donated funds to Villa Lyan for them to use for a special swing for their students and to purchase much needed equipment.

February, 2011, provided a Grant to a young boy with Autism so that he could receive Speech therapy.

April, 2011, donated funds to the Archangel Raphael Foundation to provide a Grant to a young boy with Down's Syndrome.

July 2011 - Samantha's Purpose was able to provide a summer camp scholarship to Christian Perez. This was made possible because of the monies raised at the 2nd Annual "Botar La Gorda" Domino's Tournament, thanks to Cuban Crafters Cigars and Family Domino Tables.

July 2011 - Samantha's Purpose was able to provide Mateo Sotomayor with a scholarship for 4 weeks of summer camp at Carpe Diem Academy. Once again, this was made possible because of the funds raised at our 2nd Annual Domino's Tournament.

December 2011 - The monies raised at our INAUGURAL "GIVING THANKS" GALA provided grants to two children (ages 10 months and 3 years old) so that they could particiate in the Intensive Therapy Program at Blossoms Developmental Therapy Associates in Coral Gables, Florida.

This is what Samantha’s Purpose does…..we have dedicated our time to raising money so we can make a difference in the lives of children with Special Needs. We can not continue to do this without help from the community.
